Prof. Dr. Faris Abdel Karim, Head of the Department of Anesthesia, participated in the international scientific conference held by Merck International Pharmaceutical Company at its headquarters in Dubai. It lasted for two days and it was under the slogan of metabolic and heart diseases and witnessed the wide participation of prominent doctors from the UAE, France, England and Germany.
The conference discussed several scientific topics related to blood diseases and their treatment, atherosclerosis, and their relationship to diabetes.
Prof. Fares’ participation in the conference dealt with presenting some cases of diabetes and how to treat it in Iraq, adherence to treatment, scarcity of some medicines used in treatment and alternative methods of treatment.
The conference concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation to the shareholders.
